Chess.com is kicking off the summer with the inaugural 2020 Chess.com PogChamps, featuring top Twitch streamers. Based on the FIFA World Cup, the 16 invited players will compete for their share of a $50,000 prize fund through a group stage and championship playoff.
With group stage play set to begin on June 5, the PogChamps will feature two weeks of entertainment, concluding on June 19 with the championship final. Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura will be providing commentary throughout the PogChamps, in addition to providing lessons for each of the participants.
